Launch StreamClip and covert the files to a format iMovie can deal with… like MP4 or MOV.
After the conversion is complete, quit StreamClip and launch iMovie.

Copy the video files from the camcorder flash memory to the Mac. You may need to use a card reader rather than connecting the camcorder directly to the Mac. Use the internal memory ONLY for stills.
Drag the converted video clips to the Log & Capture or Clips pane (depends on the iMovie version you are using) or directly to the timeline.
I just bought a camcorder from canon but it seems that I can’t import the video files to my macbook. It works with the pictures but not with the video files… ?? Any suggestions? The model of the camera is a FS20 Dual Flash Memory Camcorder
